Selena Gomez back to rehab

There’s a reason why we haven’t heard from Selena Gomez in a while. As it turns out, the “Wolves” singer has been secretly seeking help at a rehabilitation center — only recently completing the program after spending two weeks working with trained professionals.

Though the 25-year-old previously checked herself into rehab for her struggles with depression and anxiety, which forced her to cancel her Revival World Tour in 2016, sources say she sought help this time around for some much, much bigger. As one insider puts it: “She doesn’t want to slip back to where she was ever.”

Selena Gomez is on the mend — again. The “Wolves” singer has been noticeably quiet for the last few weeks, and with good reason. As it turns out, she’s been secretly seeking help at a rehabilitation facility — only recently completing the program after spending two weeks working with trained professionals.

According to The Blast, the 25-year-old spent most of January holed up inside a treatment center in the New York area for issues relating to depression and anxiety. Selena reportedly flew to the Big Apple on Jan. 6 to check into rehab for on-site care.

Though the former Disney Channel star previously isolated herself from the world and took a social media hiatus when she stayed at a Tennessee facility to focus on her mental health in October 2016, insiders revealed she had a more relaxed approach to treatment this time around — including access to her phone and the option to check out whenever she needed to conduct business outside of rehab.

Selena was said to have focused on therapy and eating healthy during her stay. She also reportedly took part in pilates and meditation while seeking treatment.

“It’s about physical, mental wellness and clean eating. She was there for about two weeks but she was also in the city doing work,” a source told Us Weekly. “She doesn’t want to slip back to where she was ever.”

“She always wants to be proactive,” the insider added.

However, another source told Radar Online the rehab stint was something much more than mental health. According to that particular insider, Selena volunteered herself for treatment because her inner circle “is afraid she is back on drugs and racing toward a breakdown.”

The source claimed the decision was fueled by her recent reconciliation with on-again, off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber, saying, “The label just gave her another huge advance which, mixed with Justin’s resources — he’s covering her security and transportation — has led to some pretty heavy partying…even for her.”
As fans know, this was not the first time Selena sought professional help. She first checked into rehab in 2014 at Arizona’s Dawn of the Meadows, a facility that specializes in specializes in helping those with emotional trauma, addiction or duel diagnosis. While many suspected she was seeking treatment for a substance abuse problem, the Wizards of Waverly Place alum later revealed that she had gone because she was undergoing chemotherapy as a part of her battle with lupus, an autoimmune disease that she was diagnosed with in 2013.

“I got diagnosed with lupus. My mom had a very public miscarriage. So I had to cancel my tour. I needed time to just be okay,” she explained to GQ in 2016. “It’s really frustrating, because I am 100 percent allowed to have that.”

In 2017, Selena opened up about her health issues some more by announcing that she had received a kidney transplant after her organs had started to fail due to complications with lupus. “It was what I needed to do for my overall health,” she wrote on Instagram. “There aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me.”

Though a source said Selena “feels great”after finishing her latest stint in rehab, her relationship with mom Mandy Teefey seems to be as rocky as ever. The Spring Breakers actress reportedly severed ties with her mother after she told Gossip Cop that she’s “not happy” about her daughter’s rekindled romance with Bieber.

“Selena changed her number again in an effort to avoid Mandy. Mandy is now speaking to Selena through Justin and his mother,” an insider told Radar Online
